This Premier Cru Chardonnay comes from 70-year-old vines in Rully, tended by Julien Altaber and Carole Schwab under their Sextant label. The vineyard sits on clay-limestone soils with a south-east exposure, producing fruit of intensity and balance.
The grapes were directly pressed and the wine aged for 18 months in barrel on its lees. The result is a Chardonnay of remarkable texture and purity — citrus and stone fruit layered over fine minerality, with a style that hints at the Jura in its lift and freshness.
With minimal sulphur (<20 mg/L) and careful natural winemaking, this wine reflects both its terroir and its thoughtful farming. A Premier Cru Burgundy of character and precision, equally compelling now or with time in the cellar.
