Aligoté is Burgundy’s often-overlooked grape, but in the right vineyards it can produce wines of striking character. Sextant’s Bourgogne Aligoté comes from a 60-year-old parcel in the commune of Fley, in the Côte Chalonnaise, owned by Fanny and Damien Gressard. The vines grow in clay-limestone soils with a south-west exposure, giving ripeness alongside freshness.

The grapes were directly pressed and fermented in barrel, then aged for eight months on lees. With just 27 mg/L total sulphites, this is a pure and honest expression of Aligoté.

The wine shows citrus and green apple, layered with minerality and gentle texture from lees ageing. It’s vibrant and refreshing yet grounded in old-vine depth — a fine example of why Aligoté is so loved by Burgundy insiders.
