Polisot, Champagne France
The Wine
'Les Petites Mains' (The Little Hands) is a highly sought-after rarity—the very first still red wine produced by the legendary Piollot family. Due to the tiny production volumes of still wines in the Champagne region, this cuvée is frequently sold out and remains a "unicorn" bottle for many natural wine enthusiasts.
It is 100% Pinot Noir sourced from the Côme des Tallants parcel, a south-facing vineyard with less than one hectare of vines planted on ancient Kimmeridgian limestone. Weighing in at a delicate 11% ABV, it offers a transparent, high-energy profile that is rarely seen in conventional reds.
The Producer
Based in Polisot, the Piollot estate is a benchmark for biodynamic farming in Champagne. Roland Piollot and his wife Dominique Moreau (of Marie Courtin) are cult figures in the natural wine world, known for their uncompromising commitment to soil health. Their wines are defined by a sense of "vibration" and purity that comes from decades of chemical-free farming.
