Organic Cabernet Franc & Muscat Blend, Loire Valley & Roussillon
The Mosse family have a reputation for creating unusual and delicious blends, and Combo is no exception. This cuvée brings together Cabernet Franc (20%) from 45-year-old vines grown on clay over shale near the Mosse estate in Anjou, and Muscat à Petit Grains (80%) from 15-year-old vines in limestone-rich soils in Roussillon. Both vineyards are farmed organically.
The Muscat is hand-picked in Roussillon and driven north in small containers under refrigeration to the Mosse winery in Anjou. There, it is processed in two parts: one-third foot-crushed, while the remaining two-thirds undergo a 12-day maceration. The Cabernet Franc is direct-pressed to create white juice and fermented in stainless steel before being combined with the Muscat. The final wine is aged for five months in old barrels and bottled with only a small amount of sulphur.
The result is an intriguing, aromatic blend — floral and lightly perfumed from the Muscat, with texture and savoury depth from the Cabernet Franc. At 12% ABV, it’s bright, fresh, and versatile, making it an easy choice for both food pairing and relaxed drinking.
